My colleague has done the CertSAN course. I believe she did it with City &Guilds, but other people might have an idea as may not be done by them now...

I can Highly recommend this course as I have dont the PHC and the Advanced PHC course.

I am looking to find somewhere that does the small animal nutrition certificate anyone any ideas?

I have also dont the hills course

I would really like to do the royal canin phc course but our rep said as we are predominantly a hills practice I'm not allowed. Seems so silly to me as surely of id done both i could recommend the best diet available as at the moment i know more about hills so I'm obviously going to support that diet! I've done the hills one and wish I could find more but there's a serious lack of nutrition cpd available. Please let me know if anyone does find something and good luck

have been trying to get on the royal canin one now for ages, but they say they have no dates as yet, sooo frustrating!!

thats a shame.i'll never forget catching a client out with what i learnt on that course.! They had a golden retiriever with bladder stones on s/d but its urine kept giving a higher ph than it should have. i showed the vet treating the dog some info from the course that said iffed solely on sd the blood urea should not be higher than a certain amount. we took bloods and it was higher - only then did they confess to giving the dog a sausage!

As far as I know telford college was last one doing the city and guilds, and they've now stopped running it.

I did the City & Guilds Small Animal Clinical Nutrition, it was very hard going but has been very useful over the years.

Hills do a really good one starting at Level 1, if you like it you continue to higher level. You can a pack of booklets and do an exam at the end. I thought it was really good, I have level 1, decided not to continue to a higher level just at the moment.
