At the moment i am struggling to revise and concerntrate and sort of loosing the will to live!!
I was told a few months ago that because i am allergic to animals (yes you read that

Re: First Year Exams

Hi, thanks for your reply!thats a really good idea about going into a different room, I will have a word with college and see if they can arrange something.
Yeh I no what you mean about not talking about it, everyone at college says how well there revision is going etc and I sit there fretting! Definitely helps not to talk about it and to do it in your own way.

Thanks for the tips!
Hope you do well to :)

I am doing exams at the moment too, but as i'm doing it at uni I think the format is slightly different to yours but hopefully this will still be appropriate for you.

I suffer exam stress and am also dyslexic and dyspraxic. I find having a quiet room helps my concentration levels a lot, this isn't possible for OSCE's but written exams I get a room with just me an exam overseer and occaisionally a few other students on other courses who have exams at the same time. I find not having to talk to people before hand and being able to fall into my own little world really helps me focus, and as it doesn't actually feel like I'm in an exam the stress goes away. Maybe have a word with your college tutpr and see if something like this can be arranged for you.

as regard revision I find little and often works best, about 4o minutes followed by a break and some fresh air, bit more revision and another break. I also try not to talk about my revision to other people as I find their tales of 8 hours solid revision a bit scary. (I also don't think 8 hours is productive revision so really is just a waste of time!). I find my best revision is done in a hot bubbly bath when i'm really relaxed and chilled out.

Allergies - don't really have any of those but a friend who has hayfever takes a spoonful of local honey everyday ( I think the idea is your body has a small build up of local pollens that are causing you problems and gets used to them so the problems stop). She swears by it so might be worth a try.

Good luck with exams, and hope this helps!

Think i've just got myself so wound up with it all i just lost my marbles! Just playing the waiting game now to wait for the results. Yeh on quite alot of anti allergy things, but think theres still more so thimk like you said, im going to just see what happens with the results.

Thank you for replying xxx

Re: First Year Exams

Hi
How are you feeling? I think we all have exam nerves and think what are we doing? It's very difficult for you if your allergic to animals? Being a V.N I suppose whatever avenue you take there will always be some contact plus you said yourself you will always have them? Is there anti histamines you can take to help?
Why not just give yourself a chance and re sit! You might feel differently if you pass.
Don't think about anything else until your exams are over. Npl can wait until after Monday and you shouldn't have to many assignments in the 1st year they are mainly 2 nd year.
I would give it a go on Monday and then when you get your results think about it.. I think a lot of people who are re-sitting are Worrying themselves to death at the moment and from the pass rate there are a lot of re sits. You did well to get 63% . Just a few more questions to answer right and your there xxx
Good luck
