The wya I did it was I knew one of the vet students at the time and she very kindly circulated an email on my behalf. I'm not really sure how you would do it otherwise.

Hi Vicky,

I am not really sure to be honest. i was based within a vet school at the time so I just sent out an all staff all student email. I would try to find an unofficial way in as some admin people are more friendly than others!

Could I just check how you asked at the vet schools? Did you email the main university enquiries email address with details/poster and ask if they would mind circulating? Or is there a better way to do this?

Def try and circulate round the vet schools, managed to rehome one of my own foster cats before I moved away. I had several responses within a couple of days anf they were all very nice people.

Ok, you're miles away from me but my mum's partner lives in Dorset so have forwarded on the off chance that any of his nice retired couple friends are recently between cats or something! x

Im in Harrow now but all my family and friends are back in Dorset where im from so I will definitely ask around for you! Where abouts in Dorset? x

Ah thankyou for your replies. I should have said, Im in Croydon at the moment, so the South basically. However when i move home to my parents just before i go, they are in Dorset, so equally anywhere sort of in the South East or South West!

I'd be happy to ask around my pals for you if you could let us know which part of the country you're in (and am non-judgemental as was faced with a similar dilemma a couple of years back but had a sympathetic mother-in-law who just happened to have recently lost her last remaining elderly cat!)

Try contacting the vet schools and see if they will circulate your info/request around the students. Lots of vet students want animals and cannot commit longterm but would love the opportunity to foster short/medium term. I managed to get two labradors fostered for 2 years this way/

I'm sorry I can't help Vicky, just wanted to say I've been in the same situtation before and its pretty scary and desperate. I know what you mean about circumstances changing!

What part of the country are you in? This might help jog someone's mind - maybe someone has a kindly cat-mad aunt or something living near you
