our bosses heard a recording of the phonecall. The trainee nurse did in fact agree to receiving the products. However, from the recording, it was obvious, due to the 'sneakiness' of the salesman, she was unaware they would be charging for them.

I just dont understand how they get away with it?

I'm not legally trained AT ALL but surely you must have to agree to an amount or receiving products? as the GEMS hygiene were "samples"?

yes, these scams are indeed very worrying.

Since the Gems Hygiene scenario, our boss has told us that no-one is to entertain these sort of calls at all. We must refer them to him. To my knowledge, we havent had any since.

I know - worrying isnt it.

I recently took charge of a branch after the staff left and found that one girl had been scammed into accepting european city guide, the practice is now getting court summons for over £2k for this little booklet!! yet another scam its worrying
