She's very long haired and has so far brought up one hairball, which I think is good. She's on Royal Canin Young Female, which claims to help with hairballs.
The reason I'm posting here is because she's now twice

Re: Cat poo problems

I don't know if it will help, but have you thought about Hills Hairball Control diet? Haven't tried it myself although I have had 2 long haired cats, but it might be worth a go?

Re: Cat poo problems

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FURminator-DeShedding-Tool-4-LARGE-DOG-professional-pet-products-BRAND-NEW-/170792356088?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&hash=item27c40488f8#ht_500wt_1287

Given the choice, I probably wouldn't have gotten a long haired cat but you know what it's like being a Vet Nurse, we don't always get to choose our pets. I regularly trim my dog's behind as a "just in case" so I suppose it's no big deal to do the cat as well.

Re: Cat poo problems

Hey I have a ragdoll cat and my wake call was about a 5days into me having her.

she had to have an exlap done to have a large hairball removed....this was no way my fault, she was a rescue and very badly treated before she came to me. I swore I wouldn't let that happen so she now gets furminated regularly and her trousers kept that little shorter, the few times I have lapsed she has occasionally got poop stuck on her and she is a madam to work with.

If she has a hairy enough tail, you probably won't even motice she has a shorter doo at the back :-)

Re: Cat poo problems

I have a semi long haired boy, who's at the bottom of ths post, and he is constantly getting faeces stuck around his bum. I keep the fur clipped around there, about every 4 - 6 weeks I find myself re-doing it, or yes, he scoots along the floor and leaves lovely brown smears! He also has to have katalax as well.
