We received out trigene yesterday!!!! I forgot how much I love this stuff! We got purple and blue, and yes the purple smells nicer, but I still like both! Thanks to everyone for the advice. Now we have a spankingly clean and disinfected clinic! Just in time too as kennel cough is rife here at the mo (it kills kennel cough...woo hoo!) brilliant!

Thanks for that Helen. I remember using it though from memory it could be quite harsh on your chest. I remember a vet telling me once it had been discontinued or taken off the market. Maybe that was a ploy to stop me from using it!!

Just checked it is still sold. ( We changed to Trigene about 7 or so years ago)

On the website they show dilutions for preventing MRSA http://www.medi-chem.com/FileLib/Bull_MRSA.pdf

and parvo virus fact sheet with dilutions http://www.medi-chem.com/FileLib/Bull_TriGene_Parvovirus.pdf

hopefully this may help prevent you becomming wheezy with virkon. It definately helped me when we changed from Formula H to Trigene for the cats.

We have started to use safe 4, because I think the boss was woried trigene didn't do mrsa but correct me if I'm wrong. We do also have some virkon which I like to use when we have parvo in but makes me really wheezy so avoid it at all other times!

I love Trigene esp as at congress a few years ago there was a contest where you wore a t shirt they gave you and one person was selected if you were spotted and you won £150 and i won!!! woohooo so me and my friend split it

oh theyre a good disinfectant too

We use Trigene too, have went through all the colours - green, lavender, yellow, but I still revert back to the good old green!!

trigene "flavours"

Green = normal,
blue= Eucalyptus - not very smelly
purple = lavender - nice
yellow= lemon - nice and fresh

Trigene rocks. Thats was we use. Did use virkon for a bit but don't think it has a detergent component so everything was yuck and streaky. We also have parvocide but find it gets on your chest a bit, I am not asthmatic and don't have any problems in that direction so a bit worrying. Also tried one called mirakil but also got on the chest. Correct dilutions were used. Actually has anyone else found this?

Also Trigene comes in loads of 'flavours' now so you can get a smell you like. I like purple trigene. I don't work for them, by the way!
