My 3 kitties really like the Trixie Fresh n' Easy crystal litter. There is never any odour and it lasts really well.!

best rubber mat ever I got for in front of litter tray - it cost me all of a pound . I like poundland it amazing what you can find in there. If you use the white coveralls for isolation/nursing mucky cases I used to get the decorators coveralls from there - was way cheaper than anything I could get from conventional suppliers esp as they did me a deal on boxes of 30.

I use Oko Plus - brilliant stuff but cats track it through the landing so need to get a mat I think

We have a few breeders that come into our place who use 'chick crumb' as litter and swear by it.

A vet I work with has 6 cats. He uses chicken feed, it comes like a crumb. It looks identical to worlds best cat litter and clumps and doesn't smell or have dust. About £8 a bag and lasts his 6 cats a month!

I use wood pellet based cat litter because it doesnt smell and is easy to clean up, I do get some bits of sawdust around the house but I dont think this is avoidable because whatever you use cats will get litter in their fur! I also find it convenient because supermarkets stock it too so at the last minute when I realise Im almost out I can nip to 24hr tesco and get more. I did look at yesterdays news but found it a bit pricey. We use bio catolet at work but again, bit pricey for me.

I love Worlds Best Cat Litter, although expensive, it clumps very well, absorbs all smell and can also be flushed down the toilet.

I like the wood pellets best - smell nice, really absorbent, cat likes it, and I don't have a problem with sawdust... (I use a covered tray so don't know if that helps?) I have tried the compressed paper stuff before aswell, and that was good too.. Hate clumping stuff! Mark - desert sand does sound ideal

I use it because I find that a wood based litter is good for odour control but I also like a clumping litter which means that the wood pellets don't work for me!

I have 2 cats and I put 4/5 cups in a large lidded tray and it only needs changing every other day. Never heard of "yesterday's news", what' kind of litter is it..?

I love Cat's Best Oko Plus!

I use it in an enclosed litter tray on top of a huge rectangular litter mat (http://www.petsathome.com/shop/litter-mat-by-pets-at-home-15239) to catch any stray litter. The wood-based pellets are quite soft on the paw pads compared to some wood pellet-type litters. Absorbs smells really well and is ultimately biodegradable unlike bentonite-based litter which is also quite damaging to the environment due to the mining process required to obtain the clay.

I used to flush her pee clumps down the loo but I think it was the cause of our burst sewerage drainpipe(!), so now I put the scoops in a pedal bin lined with a biodegradable poop bag as I'm in a rental property! When I change the tray, I chuck the remaining unused litter into the compost. Wish it was made here in the UK but I think it is shipped in from Belgium/Germany

As long as it clumps, I'm happy. I found with my cats that they preferred as find a grain as possible. (In fact, living in Saudi Arabia was dead easy from a cat litter point of view - drove a mile from home with a big plastic garbage bag and a shovel - a million acres of fine, deep, clean desert sand was available for your convenience, and the cats adored it!)

i use oko plus cats best litter, it is on the more expensive side but have found even using a very deep amount in 5 trays for 4 cats a 30litre bag will last me about 4-6 weeks. It is flushable which is a bonus, it clumps really well (although if you only use a bit it looks really odd and jelly like) the only thing is if your cats scratch a lot it may end up everywhere if you don't have covered trays, but thats the same as any of them.

I used to used worlds best but have found this one much better and doubt i'd go back to using anything else!!

I have tried loads of different pnes and found yesterdays news the best at staying in the tray.

I find that other wood based ones leave a nasty sawdust all over the house but yesterday news is made from recycled paper so doesn't have this problem.
