We've been told this week that NPLs are getting changed in a couple of months because the RCVS are giving up the regulation of the nurse training? (I might have my wires crossed though)

Link is to an agenda and registration form for TP Congress 2012. I apologize for sounding like an advertisement but Clinical Coach Day (20 March 2012) has a lecture on it on NPL Updates for Clinical Coaches.

Sorry I can't be more precise; the truth is I don't know yet either! (Ask me after I attend the lecture! )

Kind regards,

Still, nurse colleges are required to support the clinical coaches; so you should get all the help you need. There's actually a TP congress in March, one of the days is clinical coach day. Might be a good learning experience for you. Pm me an email and I can send you an agenda, or you can download it at caw.ac.uk.

Good luck!

Re: Going to be moving from a1 to clinical coash soon, HELP

I don't know if they have decided that yet.

Wow that seems ok.
All I have to do now is all the paper work to become a TP!! 😜 x

Re: Going to be moving from a1 to clinical coash soon, HELP

Hi, I found it took a little adjustment but now I much prefer the clinical coach and npl system as apposed to A1 and portfolio. Less time spent in my own time doing stuff. I used to spend ages reading cases at home now can manage most computer stuff in work hours.

You basically log once you have taught the student something, they then log their experience every time they practice, once they feel happy they can do the task competantly they log to claim competance. This will show up on your screen and you can decide whether they are or not.
