Basically Veterinary Technicians are governed over there on a state by state basis..so each state may have slightly different exams and entry criteria..I know there are afew that you can go straight over and start working, and others where you have to take an equivalency exam. My friend who qualified in the UK went to Canada and now worked on Vancouver..she got a job as a veterinary nurse rather than a tech ( I gather their nurses are like our ANA's) and then did the equivalency exam so that she is now a registered Vet Tech there .

In the first instance I would contact the International Veterinary Nurses and Technicians Association for guidance

http://www.ivnta.org/

If you have a state you are particularly interested in you could search online for their governing body..usually google the state name and veterinary technicians as a search phrase and you will find them..you can then contact them direct or see if they have any guidance on their website.

For example

http://newsite.oavt.org/

http://www.nysavt.org/

http://www.wvta.com/

http://www.tarvt.org/

Hope this helps XX
