thanks for all your replies! I have to say because she went on at me for so long i really did start to think that it may have been my fault! but I know its not! I am going to write to local paper i think just so other women are warned!

OMG!What an absolute witch!Even more so to blame you to hide their imcompetence at not measuring properly and double checking those measurements!That is their job not yours!Well done for standing up to her - they should be offering you that dress free of charge!No way should you have to pay for another one- do they think money just magically appears - im fuming for you so i can imagine how you must be feeling.

I got married july last year and the wedding dress people were lovely - i did have a very bad experience in another shop and the shop i got my dress from said they do have numerous people turn up telling them about this other shops attitude.Its appalling.

hi dippy the designer is Mark Lesley. I have emailed them and will also send a letter if I dont get a reply the only problem is in my state i didnt write down the design name of the dress. so I am searching through my wedding file to find my reciept to see if its on there. its just been such a nightmare! thanks so much for doing that for me!

Oh my God, how awful! If it's not too late and they haven't yet ordered the replacement, if you know the manufacturer/designer's name of the original one, it may be worth contacting them directly as they will know exactly who has what stock and it may just be that if you complain loudly enough about the shop, they can track one down in your size elsewhere and get it to them. You'd probably have to do this yourself but I used to rep for a wedding dress company and they used to pull out all the stops if something like this happened as they usually want to maintain their reputation and that of their retailers. If you know the name, let me know and I can let you know if they're one which is likely to be helpful or not as I know a good chunk of their reputations from trade exhibitions (like we all know which pharmaceutical companies are good to deal with etc).

I may not reply tonight as am off to my sponsored Gaol event in the next half hour but will check in when I get home early morning. Hope that helps.
