I had to do it unpaid for a year but now im properly paid so sounds harsh but may have to stick it out loads of people are stuck in same position. try companion care in chesterfields they need staff and pay is good

I am calling PDSA head office and asking them whether or not i can do my work placement there

Im at the point where i dont mind if it is unpaid lol

I assume the PDSA weren't able to help you then - sorry to hear that.

I have 2 TPs in the Northwest but already have four SVNs as well as a waiting list.....I wish you all the luck in the world but paid training jobs really are very hard to come by.

You will be incredibly lucky if you find a paid placement. Neverthelesss, good luck with your applications. Have you considered alternatives such as an unpaid placement juggled with part-time/evening paid work..? Or a live-in unpaid placement with free accommodation.
