i agree drs are useless, i hurt my wrist a few years back and was told to "scoff" painkillers and wear a splint for a few weeks, this continued for 6 months, 3 splints later the pain was becoming unbearable without max strength ibupof so the dr gave my wrist a yank, (which killed!) and suddenly sed i think something is broken in there, turned out id been walking round and working!! with a cracked bone in my wrist for 6 months, but i was supposed to be ok with this because it was the hardest broken bone to spot, after 2 pot casts (yeh 2) i lived in a splint for 3 more months and then started physio to move a wrist which had been splinted for a year and you know what the physiotherapist said to me??? you should have got this seen to earlier!!!!!! whaaaaa! i nearly broke his wrist!! years on i still get pains in it and WILL suffer arthritis with it in the early future

so yeh i have a very high view of the NHS....

i to thing that the gp serice is crap. A couple of years ago i had severe v and d. went to doctors and got told to stop being melodramatic. turns out i had severe gastroenteritis and needed steroids/antibiotics and a house visit at three in the morning.

I'm pretty much appalled by the service offered by my local surgery/GP's these days.

For over 2 years I was (and still am) suffering from what I only recently found out was actually depression; I spent my life in bed for 2 years, only ever leaving to go to work and had all sorts of other related ailments; chronic nausea so bad that most nights I spent hours sat by the toilet, feeling sick as a dog. On so many occasions I was told by my GP it was "an adolescent phase and I would grow out of it" Think about it now makes me so f***ing angry.

I went back and saw 4 different doctors and even they didn't know what to do with me; one even said "what do you want me to do?" If I knew what to bloody do then I wouldn't damn well be here in the first place! Argh!

That sounds painful! How rude of the dr saying it shouldn't be that painful! See how he'd like it having a swelling in his ear!

I have to say i don't have much faith in dr's. After i was in an RTA the paramedics that checked me over said no need to go to a & e but that i should go to docs for a check up the next day, just to be sure. So i did...the dr made me feel like i was wasting his time going there! Luckily i didn't suffer whiplash like i thought i would, but had a swollen painful finger. He barely looked at it, just told me to splint it to the finger next to it for a few days, which i did. Months later the joint on the finger still has a solid lump on one side of it, and will occasionally be painful if i knock it. It is my index finger, i find it hard to use that hand for undoing things like tight bottle tops now because it causes pain. I wonder if it will cause me more probs later in life like arthritis...i hope not

Bloody hell Sal thats awful. I swear dr are bloody useless. Give me a DECENT vet anyday.
