The vet where I handed in my cv today asked me if I had any kids who were pre school! I said no, " I have a son of 21 and a daughter of 11 " he said I must have been a very young mum, I was 24 when I had my son haha, he was shocked, I was well chuffed haha!!! I am 44 by the way, he made my day x

Dont worry it goes the other wat in later life- last week in our local chip shop i was asked how old i was!!! -- the YOUNG guy said he had to ask as OAPs got free chips!

nah, actually quite enjoy it I find people are quite protective of me, its only a problem when I want to buy a alcoholic drink!

I am young Mid twenties but regularly mistaken for a college kid Gets a bit annoying, believe me!

I love having 'older' nurses around Its great to learn from people who have been there, done that! also the majority of nurses/trainees tend to be young so its nice to have someone with a balanced and mature outlook. Can't imagine why someone wouldn't employ you, i'm sure the advantages outweigh the disadvantages..

I'm coming to realise that there are alot more of us 'older' nurses around, who still love being a VN.... I do... most of the time! Can't imagine doing anything else......But there will always be some vets/ practices that won't like us... for our age.... for what ever their reasons..... we have our big advantages and also some disadvantages, depending on the viewpoint..... but if they don't seem interested in you, there will always be other practices that are, so don't get too disheartened!
