You could try www.scadbangkok.org they needed a lot of help after the floods in south east asia. I helped out there when in asia last year & they are super lovely! Also animals asia in china have volunteer places for VNs. And in Malawi theres the Lilongwe wildlife hospital and the SPCA that need volunteers. So many awesome places.....Im just starting to get organised with a plan for this year!

Also you could try VBB (Vets Beyond Borders). Free to sign up to their emails/newsletters and again website is good. They have many worldwide projects :)

WVS were advertising for a young vet/vet nurse to go work at a Sri Lankan Elephant centre last year for a new series they were filming. This opportunity will have been filled but might be worth (if you haven't already) becoming a WVS member, this will then enable you to view projects/opportunities they have. I assume more like the above (with or without the filming!) will come up. A nurse I used to work with went to Greece with WVS and loved it they have all sorts of opportunities in many different countries. I hope to offer my services to TOLFA (Tree Of Life For Animals) in the not too distant future. This is a hospital/shelter run by (I think a British) VN in Rajasthan, Northern India. They have a great website and facebook pages. Hope this helps :)

I volunteered in Ecuador, rescuing animals from the illegal pet trade and rehabilitating and releasing them in to the wild. There are loads of fab places to volunteer in South America, with a range of wildlife from monkeys and sloths to big cats and bears, i loved it and would deffo recommend :)

I went to SA with African Conservation Experience and worked with a Vet. They also do whale/Dolphin conservation in Mauritius and other conservation projects that are worth looking at. They have a great website. Highly recommended

Has anyone been further afield? Im interested in maybe going to Sri Lanka and recieving Mahout training in rearing orphaned elephants, has anyone done anything like this?

I did a week at the in November with the Greek animal welfare association, had a wonderful time. I'm starting as a locum in 2 weeks so hopefully that'll leave me with more availability to do some more charity positions

I have worked as a volunteer for the Greek Animal Welfare Society in 2010 loved it....would love to do the cheetah outreach project but is the minimum time a month? Looking into Romanian Underdogs for later this year!!!! Though cant be tempted to end up with another dog......though sure Carpos wouldnt mind!!!!

I haven't done any but I have wanted to do the cheetah outreach be for a couple of years but then I bought a house so still trying to save enough money to go! Also a little scared about going on my own haha

I'm also still heavily involved with PARC in Cyprus and will be back out there in August.
