Wow what a horrible person, to me it sounds like he is lacking in his teaching skills and needs a swift kick up the back side. Maybe he is the one who is needs to be taught a few lessons!!!!!!

Hi all,

I got a call from the headmaster first thing this morning.He has assured me that said teacher has been reprimanded, andl also advised on how he should be treating pupils.Apparently he is new to the profession, and although not an excuse(Headmasters words) it would have some bearing on how he handled situations. He has also been made aware that I will not be tolerating that, and if Dina has any future problems with him, she has to go straight to the Headmaster, as well as coming to me too.

So we will watch this space, and I am sooooooooo looking forward to meeting him on parents night

Well today I have been run ragged, and was out and in like a yo yo, so I think I missed the call.Year head was to call me back once he had spoken to this "little mans" line manager, so I am going to call tomorrow again myself.

As if you don't worry about bullying from other students enough, the teachers do it as well.

My neice came to live with me a year ago, and as a result had to start a totally new school in a totally new place. Recentley they had a change of biology teacher, who is just plane rude to every one, and she's had trouble with one of her maths teachers.

I thought it was a teachers job to motivate young people, not to speak to them like rubbish, and make them feel worthless.

Sandra that teacher sounds like a jumped up wee *** for want of a better expression! let us know how u get on. i'd be angry too.

My primary school teacher was a total witch, used to get called stupid, clumsy, messy- all positive encouraging stuff for a kid to hear! She also used to haul me around by grabbing my upper arm. c if sum1 does that to me now, i tend to flinch automatically.

Also in my first job i was told i was paid from the neck down, not paid to think! Some people just arent nice are they?

Wow, thanks guys for all the posts, glad it's n ot just me being an overbearing indulgent mother thing........... although I know it's not, just needed you guys to tell me so.

I remember being at school and as I said before some nice some not.

I was a mediocre student, not thick but not dumb either........... but the difference made between mediocre and brilliant was astounding, and I never actually realised it till I left.

My Hubby who is very clever............. he came first in our year.......... every year, on ALL SUBJECTS, well he was in what was considered then "extra" brainy class, anyway they would get visits from the police the raf, the MOD, and all other big business managers within our area, on a regular basis........ mediocre student....... we got naff all....... no visits from anyone.

In second year at school we were put into classes dependant on our grades from 1st yr, and me again middle of the road, Hubby number 1, they got a white Bible, while the rest of the school got a red one............ why???? because they were "special"........ *** it makes me so made now that differentiation, and division was going on, and we as a normal bunch did not even realise it..........if you think of it today, it would be seen as some form of racism...........and this was only the late 80's....

I know I as a student was never made to feel special, but Hubby was "ALWAYS made to feel exceptional and special./................. it's all wrong, and it still goes on today which I am sorry to say.

I am glad you are getting to grips with this teacher STRVN - sounds like he needs to be doing some learning himself (ie how to behave with other human beings)

I was scared to death of quite a few of my tutors - except one and I just hated him with a passion. I was the first female in the school to take metalwork, engineering science, technical drawing and physics to exam level. Physics teacher - well he was strict but didnt mind me in the class so long as I kept my head down and my mouth shut - I was the only girl in the class. Engineering science - again this teacher was ok but told me I was wasting my time as women cannot make it industry ( I reminded him that Margaret Thatcher was a successful scientist before she started her political career and that kind of shut him up) again I was the only girl in the class. Technical drawing - there were two girls in the class - until Andrea left ! and the teacher wasnt thrilled but he didnt single me out. Metalwork - this guy was a twat, he complained that he wouldnt teach a class with a woman in it. He made it as hard as he possibly could for me. And I decided early on that I wouldnt only pass this exam but I would pass it with the highest marks possible. Again I was the only girl in the class of 12 boys - and out of the 13 in our group only 5 of us passed the exam (4 c's and and a). Even when I passed the exam with an A he still said it was because I was good at theory but crap in a practical situation.

A couple of years later I did welding classes at local college (basically because my bike needed some work on it and my father would let me use his welder) and who should be in this class as a trainee but my old metalwork teacher

LOL - I was one of those kids - I was in the class at school for low achievers/special needs/problem backgrounds/etc. It was actually expected that we would do badly. Out of my class of about 20, at least 3 committed suicide within a few years of leaving, at least two others attempted suicide (one jumped off a cliff, the other took an overdose) and several of the others were pregnant by the time they left (one had two kids by the time she was 16yrs). I had such an attitude back then when I bunked off the last few months to work in a greengrocers nobody even complained to my mother (although I was a master of signature forging!). I was almost expelled for wearing big chavvy earrings (either hoops that sat on my shoulders) or my other fave - one earring said "F/U/C/K" and the other said "OFF". I used to turn up with big black haberdashery lace that tied my big permed kylie sun-ined hair off my face with a big bow, my bra showing under my cardi (I took the shirt off as it was just sooooo uncool and un-Madonna like) and used to strut around thinking I was Madonna (or Mike Tyson - *cough* I did occasionally indulge in the odd fight). Then I got *made* to do A-levels - and got kicked out at the end of the year after I got 1% in my biology mock. Teacher - Roger - wrote in my report "Louise has an interest in things biological but not necessarily those on the syllabus" .

Didn't get pats on the back from the teachers though - I think they hated me - but they judged me before I developed the attitude and simply decided that I would fail on the basis of my background. I would love to go back and tell them how I actually turned out

I still find it quite funny that I am still alive and doing well now!

Glad i'm not the only one, i wondered if i was just being silly and over reacting! Like you said, we've made something of our lives, and done it on our own 2 feet without teachers having to hassle us along the way

yep, i can agree with both your posts was at primary school when the deputy called me a liar, it was nothing to do with school just something that had happened over the weekend, but my mum was there at the time so went and put her straight.

at high school the same as you just got on with stuff, kept my head down yet if i did something really good either for the school itself or workwise the only responce i would get is that nothing less was expected , there fore no recognition was needed. yet those d***h**ds who pratted about the whole time got praised and awards and stuff

Outrageous little git! I had that happen to me as a 13year old - I had to write a poem as homework and the teacher refused to believe it was written by me so she hauled me in front of the class and bawled me out to make an example of me - I did write the poem and was so upset. I have never forgotten that teacher and that was 21years ago!

Give your daughter a hug from me and I hope you complain good and loud!!!

I hope it gets sorted, that teacher has no right to do that to your daughter, what an idiot!

I was a student who just plodded along, kept quite and got on with my work at school. I always found that the students who caused a lot of fuss and disruption but then did something good got praise, and those who were top grade students got praise. But those like me who just got on with our work and got good but not amazing grades got no recognition whatsoever. It made me feel like i wanted to cause some trouble so that i got some attention. Did anyone else find this with themselves or their children? I just feel like more recognition should be given to all students who just get on with their work with no fuss. Sorry if i've gone off track a bit!
