We have a practice in Hayes middlesex and have a conference room which we are hoping to use for CPD evenings for vets & nurses. But not to sure :
1) Will nurses attend?
2) What cpd subject/topic is good?
3) Have the nurse cpd FREE of charge

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

suturing workshops always go down well, I have organised a few in the past - but as most nurses dont suture ? its relevant.

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

Get in touch with the bvna and mention what you have to offer and their local regional co ordinator can get help with loads. You can hold bvna cpd meetings and they will promote it free and get the speakers and even arrange food yom yom

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

I think CPD on anaesthesia is always a good one for any nurse, you can never e too clued up about it :) Also I like radiography and nurse clinic CPD :) .. and everyone loves free CPD! Very rarely get CPD events that are close to me, and when they are theyr expensive.. so it will probably be successful for local VNs.

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

Practices providing their own CPD is a great idea - and what a luxury having a conference room!

I've always thought it would be very beneficial if all the specialist/referral practices in a county'area got together and organised mutual CPD - so each practice provided an evening covering a topic that they specialised in - this would be a great way of staff from different practices getting to know each other too!

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

Thanks your feedback very helpful

Re: IDEAS FOR NURSE CPD

I think nurses will attend if the content is relevant to them and the times of the cpd is suitable with work etc you may get more attending if it is evening sessions.

Free cpd is always great if it is avaliable as it saves nurses money and also if you have a strict budget from your employer it can help to get other cpd to make up your hours.

There are lots of interesting topics which could be included for cpd. It may be a good idea to have a chat with nurses in your area and see what interests them. I personally would love cpd on behaviour/training for dogs; dentistry; nurse clinics; suturing workshops.

Hope this is of some help!
