Can I apply for a qualified nurses job or what do I do?
Thank you

If so, I would say it is perfectly reasonable to apply for qualified nurse positions, as long as you make it clear when you will be available for work and when you expect to be registered.

Although I would say you might not find any jobs for after May just yet, Vets are generally not that organised! In my experience, they only start advertising for a nurse as the departing nurse is about to leave, so are looking for someone asap. Although I appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting to find your first QVN role! Probably waiting until March or April would be better?

Can't really advise you about job
hunting, however, if you are planning to work as a qualified veterinary nurse
and undertaking veterinary treatments you'll need to be registered with the
RCVS - this means you'll be covered by the Schedule 3 dispensations of the
Veterinary Surgeons Act. (There are different dispensations for student
VNs under the act and these won't apply once you're no longer a student.)

Some of the universities make arrangements for their graduates to register with
us, so you can check if yours does. If you need to make your own
arrangements - or want more information - have a look at http://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/how-to-register/registering-as-a-newly-qualified-nurse)

Good luck with the rest of your course
