How are you managing this? Does your computer flag up each time a non licenced drug is selected, or do the vets have pre printed forms to fill in?

Re: Off licence consent forms

Also, if Vetsolutions want a lot of money for robovet, ask the other companies if they'll give you a deal to switch over. There's a recession on - this is a great time to ask for a better deal! :)

Re: Off licence consent forms

They did price up for Robovet but it's not been mentioned since, I'll ask again.
We have the premvet computer system and haven't found a suitable pre exisiting consent form in there. We may have misunderstood but we're under the impression a consent form needs printing for every different off licence drug dispensed to that animal.

(Thanks for your reply)

[/quote]

Premvet is a very old computer system - in fact to my knowledge Vetsolutions no longer installs it - it's been replaced by Robovet. It's still supported, yes, but there are simply more modern PM systems (RxWorks, Vet One, Jupiter, "other brands are available" ;) ) with more features like consent forms you can have set to print when you prescribe them.

(The last practice I worked in used Premvet. Does what it says on the tin, but if you're looking for more bells and whistles, it's time to upgrade.)

Ask around, probably quite a few manufacturers would be willing to give you a quote.

Re: Off licence consent forms

We have the premvet computer system and haven't found a suitable pre exisiting consent form in there. Vets print them off when they know they are dispensing a product that is off licence for that animal. It gets recorded in a box on the animals record that gets flagged up when creating a new visit to say they have already signed a form so if need anything else in the future they don't need to sign another one. This system has worked well so far and hasn't gone wrong since iv been working here over a year. Hope this helps.
