I know I might get a few strange looks from this question but my boss seems to have a very odd way he wants us to clean our blades. Also if anyone knows where I can perhaps

Re: clipper blade cleaning

love it, love it, love it Reminds me of a boss from many moons ago..... good times

I have worked in a mixed, and never again! They do have some, strange ways some of them. There is a joke that went round............

What is the difference between a horse vet and God?

God knows he is not a vet.

Wraps it up nicely I feel

Re: clipper blade cleaning
lol, I feared someone would ask.......

This is not me, I might add, how I clean them

Soaked in kerosene ( ?spelling) and then in oil ( not sure what type but not clipper oil)

mmmmm!!!????
do you work in a mixed practice at all? or is your vet one that has worked with large animals a lot? - the only reason I ask is that this used to be the done thing when cleaning blades after clipping horses or sheep and in many places still is. Just out of interest have you come across any problems as a result

Isn't that toxic?

I've only ever seen them soaked in and then scrubbed with Hibi and sprayed with clippercide. If your boss is old school he may be hard to sway, though. Good luck.
