Even with a multipet discount + 20% discount my premium was £31/per month for the £4,000 budget lifetime policy and that was with a £115 excess + 20% of all costs. On top of that I was buying lots of supplements for her arthritis and not claiming it back so I was spending a fortune each month. Sadie is about 12 years old though!

I have now taken out an accident and injury only policy with Tesco. It costs me £6.25 per month, gives £3000 cover and has an excess of £60. I have opened a savings account though and have been putting money aside as a buffer for illnesses.

Re: Pet Insurance x.x

pet plan all the way...made the mistake of insuring one of my cats with marks and spencers and it was the worst mistake i made. Pet plan all the way! It may sound lke more but worth it when the premiums hardly increase each year and you are entitled to the vet staff discount etc

Re: Pet Insurance x.x

Defo PetPlan never had a problem with them its only costings me about £15 for Carpos on a lifetime policy Bargain!!!!

Re: Pet Insurance x.x

I too have my cat insured with pet plan, although I haven't had to put in a claim yet (touch wood!) and hopefully will never have to use it. Got my cats on there and my sisters dog. With my 2 being over 10 yrs old, they are still cheaper then the dog! they have never given me any hassel with claims, paid vet and myself very quickly. As a PIA for petplan I feel my personal experiances help me positivly promote them

Re: Pet Insurance x.x

Personally I would recommend pet plan.
I am a walking advert for PP insurance having claimed thousands over the past 9 years with meg and tux and Poly when she was still with us. my insurance for all 4 (bearing in mind there is a multiple pet discount as well) is ~£37 a month, Demi and Quaxo's excess is ~£75 I think and Meg and Tux's has just gone up to £105 but they have just turned 9 1/2 so expected it to go up

PP tend to only put up premiums with inflation and pets age which is reasonable really

Re: Pet Insurance x.x

Wow!
