If you are a university student on placement it would be worth while going back ASAP to your tutor(s) and explaining the situation and asking for support / advice on how to proceed. If you are training through a different route someone else on the forum might be better placed to advise you. I guess you need to work out whether the practice really is truly too bad to stay there there or whether you can 'grin and bear it'. Sometimes when work is really awful you need to focus on achieving your goal as quick as you can and then getting the hell out of there. However, if it really is too bad then start looking for an alternative training position. As you are half way through your second year I would imagine you would be pretty attractive to practices as you already have lots of skills to offer. Good luck with whatever you do and happy new year!

Re: Please help desperate to leave current practice...

sounds like you've already come to a decision hun, the hard part at the moment will be finiding a new practice, I did it when I was training so I know it can be done.you just have to take the plunge, and be ready to move away from where you are now depending on practices looking for 2nd years. (Just don't forget to let the RCVS know that you have changed practice!)

Good Luck x
