Just feel a bit bad and hoping you guys might make me feel a little better!! Just put my baby into a cattery for four nights, I'm going to Denmark in the morning so she's in there for Christmas.
She is indoors only (due to us living beside

Re: My cat is on her Christmas Holidays..

Thanks guys! :-) Means a lot! I know she will be fine, she'll sulk for the first day or so then she will be fine. I'm just being an overly protective mummy!

So different when it's your own isn't it?!

At Heathrow Terminal 5 now having a coffee before our early morning departure to Copenhagen then onto Aalborg, Denmark!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone! Doesn't seem fair to ask the cat sitter to come over twice a day, and she seems ok at home alone (have gone away a few times for short stays) As they are on different diets, they can't both stay at home (1 cat vomits when eats too much, the other is a bully for food) and she scratches the furnature, so the inlaws won't have her over :(

Still I think she likes the peace and quiet, and her feeder will open to a yummy feast on christmas day! (got some awesome applaws and an iceblock to keep it cool overnight) She'll have the heating on timer, and the water fountin has been cleaned and re-filled. She hates travel, gets stressed, hyperventilating, so I think a quiet time at home is right up her street.

Not been a fan of catteries, sadly not had great experiances with them myself. As I said, usually get the cat sitter over, but I think she needs some time off! I remember working in a kennels and cattery, I used to spend my breaks in the cattery as I was the Cat person there, so the cats got lots of attention!

Re: My cat is on her Christmas Holidays..

She'll be fine hun my kitties had to go into a cattery from an early age over xmas, I am lucky now that the older 2 are allowed to stay at work and they are so institutionalised that even if they have the run of the cat ward they will spend 99% of their time in the kennel!! I have just been bagging up their food for their holiday

the kittens now come with me up to my parents as they travel quite well (meg and tux get travel sick even travelling for 10 mins....so much so I have to starve them before a journey)but they would be welcome at work as well.

As others have said she will get loads of attention and love!!

Re: My cat is on her Christmas Holidays..

My Morris loves cattery , it really is a holiday for him - he loves the attention. He also appears to get on well with the neighbours and anybody visiting them. Jas is not so chuffed at the prospect and tends to sulk for the first few days but even he settles down. I am sure the cattery staff will help bring her out of her shell a bit

Re: My cat is on her Christmas Holidays..

You probably wouldn't feel so bad if it wasn't christmas, so I think if you remember that to her Christmas will be just another day and she will know no different then that will help.
