Just to confuse things a little more for you - the VNAC is not necessarily the training provider......

You are bes toff being open minded about which training provider you want to go to and just concentrate on getting that very sought after trainee job in a TP.

Yes, I know. But on the RCVS website where all the TPs are listed, you can see which one is working with which Training Centre. That's how I selected some of them as well as travelling distance of course. Having quite a few pets myself, I can't afford to work or study too far away.

Just because a practice is near a college (training center) does not mean that they will use them. Some opt for those further away that the trainess can stay at on 2 week place ments during training or furthur away that trainees have to drive to on a weekly 1 day trip.

So the VNAC (which I called the College) should be able to decide whether I can enter? I've sent CVs to practices affiliated to that particular Centre because it's the one nearer to me, so I do sort of know that, should I find a placement in a TP, I'll be studying with them! I don't understand why they don't inform me correctly! Do you think I should actually go there in person and ask to speak to a head of centre? i just want some clear answers!!

Ifs up to your Head of Center (of your VNAC not your TP) but until you have a TP you wont know who that is! They have a recommended list of alternative qualifications but generally if you have a degree you are OK.

Its pretty poor that collage are giving you duff advise, they should know better!
