&lt;p&gt;actually no you dont always have to have had a verbal and 3 written - it depends on exactly the basis of the termination and if it comes under misconduct ( and refusing to carry out a &amp;#39;reasonable instruction&amp;#39; could come under this as could the inability to work with colleagues depending on the exact wording on the contract) seek professional advice urgently.&lt;/p&gt;
