Is anyone able to give me any information about how a VN can become an examiner for the RCVS OSCE tasks? Also, any information about how long you must have been qualified first etc. will be much appreciated.

I seem to recall that you need to be in an educational role, i.e. lecturer/ tutor at a university/college. I may be wrong though!

This isnt true as I know two nurses who r examiners who are neither, they are however, assesors so I think you may have to be a clinical coach at least

Re: How to become a RCVS examiner?

I think you'd surprise yourself. I examine OSCE type tasks for degree students and they're marked to OSCE standards. I really enjoy doing it which is why I want to train as an examiner for the RCVS. I always thought that I was a push over but the marking scheme is fairly clear cut - they either did it or they didn't. It's very interesting!

Re: How to become a RCVS examiner?

dont think i could do this, id be too generous!!! id let people off if they made simple mistakes!!!

Re: How to become a RCVS examiner?

Thank you all very much.

Looks like I'll have to contact the RCVS for more info. I don't believe that you need to be working in education but I am working as a Lecturer at the moment so that would be fine anyway.

Probably worth contacting the RCVS for any current info.
