type in propofol in the search box and it should bring up the SPC (specific product characteristics) in there it has pharmacology info and sometimes mechanism of action e.g. how a drug works on the body.

That might help?

Re: pharmacology query :/

I'd say have a look through some journals online (your college should have some kind of access to them)... Could you put it down as being your own experience? Be interesting to hear what others experiences have been aswell. Good luck with the journal search, I know how frustrating it can be when you're looking for something obscure!

Re: pharmacology query :/

thanks Hcat i seen that one but it didnt sound too believable if you know what i mean. in a "small" number of animals. seems abit brief. i seem to see it in "most" animals that have not had a premed before hand. But hey no mention of that there either. i might have a veterinary journal day tomorrow looking through articles tomorrow, although i cant think i have read any, worth a try tho. thanks

Re: pharmacology query :/

http://www.noahcompendium.co.uk/abbott_laboratories_ltd/propoflo_10_mg_ml_emulsion_for_injection_for_dogs_and_cats/-22948.html

Mentions excitation in a small number of animals. Hope this helps a bit, one reference at least. As to why it happens a good anaesthesia/pharmacology book/journal article may help, maybe fit in a very brief explanation. Good luck:)
