For a routine AB us Co-amox Its a generic augumentin - much cheaper - sometimes doenst mix quite as quickly. probably wnat to avoid zinacef as not really a firstline AB, other than that there are few you would really wnat to use to in terms of cost or good AB use.

Metornidazole - doenst really have wide enough range
ennrofloxacin - need to be really careful giving IV as have seen problems in consious dogs
Lincocin - again not really a routine forst line AB (except for dental work)

Also if its any other help we use augumentin/co-amox routinly and keep zinacef for 'special' cases

Hope that helps.
