Now imagine how jealous you are about that... and imagine how I feel! I work at the other branch and we never get any exciting animals like that! I did try to persuade the college to let me use a contraceptive implant in a lioness as my 'implant' portfolio section - just to get the oportunity to be involved but, typically, didn't work out.

For saying I live about 10 minutes away I haven't been there for ages now to be honest, but I did get an out of hours tour of the reptile house recently while dropping off a stray albino corn snake!

P.S. Which nurse were you at college with? I finished with Sam just last year

Hi Shane,

Your nearest one is probably Woburn, its near Milton Keynes so only about an hour or so from Cambridge.

I've never been to West Mids Safari Park-is this the one that was in the news recently as when the summer jobs were advertised, something crazy like 3000 people applied?!? I like Woburn and Longleat though and go quite often

I've been a couple of times, takes nearly 31/2 hours to get there though so bit of a trek but worth it to see the big cats! love the cheetahs! Got some great pics of them last time with my new spangly camera.. off to africa again next month to see some wild kitties, can't wait

I only live about 30 minute away from wmsp and i went twice last year. The second time we went the car got surrounded by the wild dogs, was scared I was going to run them over lol. I think its good, went round about 3 times hehe

About 12 years ago I was very lucky to assist the South African National Parks Board and worked for two weeks in the Kruger Park, either on horseback, foot or sometimes a Jeep.

We were doing TB testing in the animals, which meant we had to dart a lot of them for blood samples. Lions, Zebra, Kudu, Giraffe, antelope, and tons more.

Was hard work, but great fun!
