Very similar but this one was an exercise bike with some sort of video running of the route and due to some magic technology, the video plays in real time in conjunction with your cycling so however far you've gone, or if you stop, it stops playing as if you're actually doing it, or so I believe. I've found similar videos online but they're all of USA rides. I might start by trying a local gym and see whether they've heard of it as I'm guessing it would involve hiring the equipment (and then finding an awful lot of volunteers!) It's just an idea at this stage but one I'd like to learn more about perhaps for next year....

Some people from a travel agents in Manchester did it on Children In Need but I'm not sure which branch, otherwise I'd be cheeky and ring them to ask!
