Wondering if any practices have noticed a decline in new clients/new puppies? We've not had that many new clients recently and our boss has asked us to think about ways to attract new clients? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: New clients

We actually seem to be getting the opposite happen. I registered three new clients in one day the other day, and we seem to be seeing quite a lot of puppies at the moment. However, we were talking about this the other day and wonder if it is that people are seeing their pets more as part of the family at the moment and are moving practice as they really want the best for their pet rather than what is cheap (we are one of the more expensive practices in the area, but really focus on customer care and like to really know our clients). That said, it looks as though the ops are starting to get quieter as they always do at the end of the year.

Re: New clients

A practice near me has started doing vaccinations for £18 to attract new clients.

Unfortunately there will probably be an increase leading up to Christmas. (I say unfortunately because I don't like the idea of an animal being a christmas present.. even if it does work out well.)

I guess from an advertisement point of view... having a practice open day/evening, attending community events as a practice, throw lots of freebies with your name on it at people. Things like that seem to work well. :) Complimentary things like vouchers to get clients to visit (for some the first time) are also good.

Good luck!
