My moggie is feeling the cold this winter, he is spending most of his time cuddled up on a fleecey blanket to keep warm.
He is a cat that enjoys sitting on my lap but it breaks my heart that he is shivering with cold whilst doing this

Re: Cat Jumper
Claire York who comes on here has a sphynx and she may be able to help you
Here I am!

Piglet has a few jumpers incase it gets chilly. A few are custom made so if you know anyone handy with a needle an thread give them a shout.

However, her other jumpers are dog jumpers. She weighs around 2-3kg so XS dog, Chihuahua or puppy jumpers fit her perfectly.

Muddy Paws are perfect, the top photo I've posted of her is a Muddy Paws dog jumper - http://www.pawspetsupermarket.co.uk/muddy-paws-red-or-blue-cable-knit-sweater-dog-jumper-9794-p.asp

Equafleece also do small dog jumpers that might fit your kitty - http://www.equafleece.co.uk/store/dog_jumpers.html

Check out http://www.sphynxsweaters.com/index.html they do loads of brilliant jumpers.

I wont make him wear it if its affecting him too much, il also only out it on when im with him (so he can sit on my lap) because in the day he will just curl up on his furry cover.

The boiler has just decided to pack in so i think we will boh be needing a jumper until i can get a plumber out!

Re: Cat Jumper

An interesting aside.... A few years ago had a16y.o. MN Persian who was in for a dematt under sedation. His POB's showed elevated urea and creatinine so was given fluids as a precaution, sedated and had to be pretty much shaved as matts were so bad and close to the skin. He recovered well and was sent home, only to come back in as an emergency over the weekend as he hadn't urinated at home for at least 24hrs and owners were concerned regarding kidneys. He came in with a beautiful knitted coat on to keep him warm as he was practically bald. On putting him into a kennel with a litter tray and removing his coat, the cat jumped straight into the tray and did the biggest wee I have ever seen! Poor thing just didn't want to wee whilst wearing his coat (it was completely non obstructive btw). So moral of the story is make sure the cat is comfortable and habituated to wearing the jumper.

Re: Cat Jumper

I've just googled "jumpers for cats", and it brings up quite a few results, and it looks like there are a fair few on ebay. I can't say I have ever seen any for sale in any petshops though. However, some of the jumpers they make for dogs are miniscule, so you might be able to find a dog one to fit. If not, there seemed to be quite a few knitting patterns on google if you wanted to make one, although wouldn't have an idea how to do that so would have to buy one.

Re: Cat Jumper

havn't seen a cat jumper or coat but Claire York who comes on here has a sphynx and she may be able to help you find something appropriate. I used to have an old siamese who felt the cold and this was my cheapo way of doing it. scour the jumblesales and charity shops for the very fine knitted jumpers - so long as the arms were good the condition of the rest doesnt matter. After washing them cut the sleeeves off at the length of the cats body to come from the neck and just to the root of the tail and about an inch longer.

cut two holes underneath for front legs, whip stitch all cut edges to keep them safe and use it as a coat

cuff end goes to neck end and if it is a very long cuff roll back to form a collar. My Simon really liked his ( we had quite a few)
