I'm wondering if anyone on these forums has studied at Easton College, nr Norwich?

I'm 26, i've previously studied in Audio Engineering but currently work in an office for the NHS as creative audio work is hard to come by.
Again Welcome

I just want to correct you the diploma in veterinary nursing is NOT a national diploma in the strictest sense of the word, technically it is a diploma andit is available nation wide but t isn't the same structure as the national diploma framework. Neither of the courses you have mentioned will get you the qualifiction you need unfortunately.

If you are sure you want to get into vet nursing then you have 2 options to get the qalifications:

1 is to find a training position in a practice and they will send you to college on day or block release

2 is the degree route and they will then send you out on placement to practices

Here are a couple of links that may help you

BVNA and RCVS

Good luck!!!

Re: Easton College

Hi Stephen,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid that a degree (or national diploma) in animal management won't include vet nurse training. However, it would be incredibly helpful if you then wanted to do the VN degree course after. I did the ND Animal Management last year and just started the VN BSc and I have found that what I studied last year has kept coming up and has given me an invaluable insight into animal welfare. I did my diploma at Writtle, not Easton, but the syllabus is the same. I don't know about Easton's courses, but if you're concerned about your age, Writtle do a course specifically for the over 19's.

As for VN training you could choose the national diploma route or degree as I have, they will both get you a VN career at the end. Please, please, please don't think time is against you - it isn't. I'm 40 (41 in Dec!!) so I'm living proof that training post 17 is possible!!

Good luck,
