&lt;p&gt;I think it may depend on the locum agency you are with, but usually the employer pays you and the agency charges them a fee for finding you.&amp;nbsp; If its a permanant job, its usually a set fee, or percentage of annual salary.&amp;nbsp; I don&amp;#39;t know how they work it out if its a temporary job, probably a percentage of your hourly rate, or weekly pay??&amp;nbsp; But they are usually quite thorough in explaining this, especially as they like you to use their umbrella company to sort your tax, so that they can make commission on it!!&amp;nbsp; I refuse this offer, although *some* agencies have been very reluctant to allow me to do this, but I just stuck to my guns and said I would register self-employed and sort my own tax out.&lt;/p&gt;
