The due date for payment is today, to allow time for VN Cards to be produced and sent out in time for the New Year. However, if anyone hasn't paid by today, they will be sent a reminder in the post saying that they must pay by 31 December.

Only if payment hasn't been received by 31 December, would anyone be removed from the List/Register. So, there is still time to pay, however we would encourage payment sooner rather than later so that VN Cards are received in good time.

If you've got questions about your payment (eg, which account the direct debit is set up on) then you can call Finance Department on 020 7202 0723. If you need help with the log in, or have a question about your registration renewal, it's probably best to contact Registration Department - membership@rcvs.org.uk or call 020 7202 0707.

I haven't gotten mine either just paranoid about name getting taken off. the register...saying that I'm struggling to find good reason to fork out the 60 quid.

Hi Claire- I've just emailed the membership email address but got an automated reply saying it may take 5 days to respond and I need the payment to be in today, as far as I know..

When I confirmed my personal details were unchanged I got this message

'Thank you for completing your annual renewal. Your details are being processed. If you have any queries, please email membership@rcvs.org.uk.'

Do you know if this means payment has been processed (and from where!?) I didn't enter any payment details so assuming it will be deducted in whatever way I done it last year, in which case I haven't the foggiest! I urgently need to know where RCVS will attempt to take payment from as I need to make sure there are funds in that particular account..

Any advice appreciated,

Hi Beth

You need to make the cheque payable to 'Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' and put your List/Register number on the back please. It needs to go to:

Registration Department

London SW1P 2AF

I'm not sure if you've already done this but VNs and RVNs also need to confirm their renewal on the List/Register by 1 November. This needs the renewal data form enclosed with the renewal notice (duplicates can be obtained by emailing the Registration Department - membership@rcvs.org.uk)

You can either send the form back (given the timescale, fax it to 020 7222 2002, or scan and email it to membership@rcvs.org.uk) or use the login number from the form to confirm your renewal online at www.rcvs.org.uk/login.

Hope this is clear and helpful - if you've any questions about your registration/listing you can also email the Registration Department.

If we send a cheque, do we make it payable to the RCVS or do we need to specify a department? Just found out my boss cancelled the DD today!

Just to clarify for those that have not paid their retention fees yet; the RCVS will not remove from the List or Register any veterinary nurse as long as the payment is made – and has cleared – before 31 December.

You can pay it online using the individual, log-in code from your fee reminder letter. There is a login area on the website (http://www.rcvs.org.uk - button top right) and instructions to take you through this.

If you’ve lost your login code, then please email membership@rcvs.org.uk with your full name (including any middle names), badge number (which you will find on the back of your badge), current address on the Register/List and date of birth, and the number will be sent to you.

Another quick way to pay (and one which avoids credit card administration fees) is to make a bank transfer to the RCVS. For details, you’ll need to phone the Finance Department on 020 7202 0774.

You’ve also – if you’re quick – still time to pay by cheque. Please write your name and List/Register number on the back so we know whose fees they are – especially important if it’s not your name on the cheque!

I have set up direct debit much easier money gone out on 1st Nov sorted and dont have the worry of missing the deadline and having to pay a fortune to relist, I havent found the RCVS to be lenient or hepful if you missed even if they only sent out the renwal letters few weeks ago. I was told by them ages ago when I didnt receive a renewal letter at all that its your responsibilt and you should know when its due for renewal!!! As you can imagine I wasnt best pleased with that unhelpful response!!!!!

If you look on their website it tells you its fine up till december 1st but if you want to guarantee your name will be on the list then you have to do by 1st of november. I think you will be fine, i did mine easily using my credit card online but you can call and get the bank details so you can do a direct transfer if thats easier for you but you have to send your form off to them still.

As far as I know you can still pay after 1st Nov but they wont guarantee your name appears in the printed register and up to Dec (end or start I can't remember) you shouldn't have to pay the re-registration fee.

I rang them last week as I didn't get paid till fri and was going to do bank transfer then and the nice man said best to send a cheque and he allowed me to post date it to the fri and he would only bank it then (still not cleared but it can tke a few days) I lways send mine recorded to try and have a bit of back up.

I always have all my RCVS etc stuff delivered to home to try and avoid things like this

well they may have good reason to be lenient this year? as most of us only got our renewal letters 2 weeks before payment was due. I posted mine last week but as yet the cheque hasnt been cashed and I did ring RCVS yesterday to see if could check if my payment had been received and I was told it wasnt possible to tell if an individual cheque had been received or not and to try again at the end of the week. So I guess if you get it in quick you might be lucky?
