HELP

I'm currently enrolled at college doing my Level 1 Animal Care Diploma.
I want to be a Veterinary nurse one day and was wondering if after I finish my Level 1 and 2 diploma in animal care, what would be the next step to become a veterinary nurse?

Re: Trying to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse!
You really have two options:

1) the level 3 diploma in veterinary nursing

2) doing a relevant level 3 qualification (e.g. some sort of animal management diploma or A Levels) and then going on to do a degree in veterinary nursing

Option 1 will require you to be employed within a training practice (the lists of training practices can be downloaded from the RCVS website). This is where most students struggle. Once you've got your first position it's usually plain sailing! You will probably need to get some work experience within a veterinary practice in order to enhance your CV.

Send your CV out to all of the TPs in your local area and take it from there!

Good luck x

Re: Trying to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse!
Welcome to the forum.

There's quite a lot of posts on here regarding beginning training. Try the search option and the training link.

Good luck with your DAM. I just finished the Level 3 last year so I know what hard work it is.
