Our operating theatre currently doesn't have a dooron it, which i believe would pose an increased risk of wound site reactions

Re: Theatre cleanliness

Theres loads of journal articles on this, you just have to search for them. I think doing this and showing your bosses shows you to be a very concientious and caring nurse

Re: Theatre cleanliness

[quote user="Emma Kerry"]

To start with I thought that it would be rubbish, but he did sway me. Have not ordered or used any yet, but have passed the idea onto the bosses. Its an aerosol that you set off in a room leave for and hour then the room disinfected. Obviously nothing betas hands on clenaing, but I thought it may be good periodically or doing theatre before orthopaedics, isolation, or consult rooms after poss kc cases? May be worth thinking about? but as I say I dont know how effective

Re: Theatre cleanliness

What she said ^ : )

Re: Theatre cleanliness

If you're on a mission to improve cleanliness, it might be worth taking some swabs and sending them off for culture. it's something I did fairly often at my last practice. Yeh thats what i really want is a door but i think its going to be a hard one to fight without any statistics and hard evidence as many prefer the ease of not having to fiddle with doors when taking patients through.
I'm sure there was something recently in vet times/nursing times about cleanliness
