I have a book that is pretty fascinating, it's nothing to do with nursing specifically but it definitely is deep on the subject of the bond a pet and its human owner shares.

Hi,

Anthozoos journal might be your best bet or the animals in society if your college/uni subscribes to these. Check out the ISAZ website. A nurse presented research at their annual conference this year which looked at the effects of owner vistation on the heart rate, pain scores, etc of intensive care patients.

Ive spoken to a behaviourist and she said ring a refferal behaviourist and they can give you information or atleats point you in the right direction
