I'm Clinical Coach for a degree student and we are almost finished with her NPL, however, for VN11, there is a couple of skills that we're struggling with.
Skill 2 - Clean the operating theatre - (D) After Infected Case - Can this be for abscess

Re: VN11 Supporting Veterinary Operating Theatre
for tourniquets i used having to place a second IV under anaesthesia in a C section, and some distal limb injuries.

hope this helps

x
Used them in big dogs before coz my lil hands can't raise the vein!

Re: VN11 Supporting Veterinary Operating Theatre

Hi,

for infected case cleaning, i used peritonitis and an ex lap where there was a rupture and necrotic tissue.

for tourniquets i used having to place a second IV under anaesthesia in a C section, and some distal limb injuries.

hope this helps

For contaminated I think we used similar - peritonitis cases etc but even a stitch up that needs debriding maybe a bite wound etc, or a mass that is a bit oozy and possible infected??

We just have a few bits left on our portfolio too and are just using discussion as time ticking till it all needs to be in.,

Re: VN11 Supporting Veterinary Operating Theatre

Hi,

For skill 2 D i cleaned the ops room following a stitch up and an intestinal torsion due to draining the intestinal contents. These ops were classified as contaminated ops and therefore it was accepted.

As for skill 8 B i think i did an assimilation where my clinical coach asked me what it would be used for, and where and why would it used it.

Hope this helps xx
