Haha, I remember sitting having a drink outside a friend's house in Cyprus a few years ago and a tarantula casually walking up their path. You've never seen anyone move so fast!!!

Nope - couldn't even watch the video of the thing! Now i just KNOW there is one living in our xray room, and it knows i know! lets just say if it comes out it will cop it! and i won't even know i have done the deed until it's over as i just grab the 1st thing to hand! Give me a dodgy rottie anyday!

OMG.. I am petrified of spiders!!!..

Have you seen the size they have grown too due to the climate?!! they are big enough to wear shoes!!!

* Here is a little (yet brilliant..) tip for you to help prevent them coming in your home.. CONKERS!! .. Seriously.. we collected loads of them last month and jotted them around the house (on window sills, behind sofa, corner of front / back doors..etc etc) and I've not seen one single spider .. something to do with the scent of conkers that keep spiders away?! I dunno - but it seems to work.. happy days!!!

I don't like wasps. I'm terrified of them! I will literally run out screaming like a little girl! But I think that's quite a common phobia anyway! I'm fine with bees as I know they won't hurt you if you leave them alone.

its more the fear of them popping, which stems from a fear of fireworks (me no likey big bangs... as you can probably tell, i am scared of almost everything hahaha)

*is not curious about how to sex marshmallows... but i am still not gonna look it up... just pictures freak me out*shivers**

I used to be scared of balloons too, so i did a summer working in a balloon shop, fixed me right up...

I am terrified of balloons and have had the same thing - people waving them in your face until you cry and they realise your not joking.

I have helped a few people with mild arachnophobia by teaching them to sex the spider - it distracts them and stops them thinking too much about it.

Yes but if everyone was like me they would also be scared of the white fluff so my friends would stop taunting me with them. Lol.

I am. I bought a bar of galaxy chocolate today and had to ask a member of staff to go down the chocolate aisle to get it for me because there was a bonfire display stand at the end of the aisle with the evil fluffy white things on it. I was fine with them until I was about 18. But now its gotten to the point where my best friend had to collect me from Asda about a year ago after a packet of pink n whites fell off a top shelf onto me and I freaked out.

I used to be seriously bad with spiders as a child and teenager. But in adulthood, I'm fine with them. I just kill them from a safe distance! My wife is seriously bad with them and will literally scream like a baby running out of the room yelling my name. So thankfully I've gotten over my phobia of those things and can deal with them, but wasps... Well that's another story!

I will swap all your combined arachnophobia for my Althaiophobia (google it). It may seen ridiculous but they terrify me. I can't go in my favourite coffee shop as they're in a jar on the counter. I have to avoid childrens parties. I have to get people to pass me chocolate from the sweeties aisle at the super market. Being in veterinary field suffering from arachnophobia is not at all accepted. But this is a fear which is mostly persistent and it's very difficult to avoid it. There are people who are afraid of insects of every category. Though they know that spiders and lizards don't harm at all, but their presence makes them alert and they experience undue anxiety. Some people even meet specialists who show them the ways to avoid this fear but still it's difficult to overcome.

Don't EVER move to Australia, I have Simon (or Simone) the spider living in my bedroom and his cousin in the bathroom!

Remember its the ones that you can't see that are the problem ones.

Don't have a problem with mozzies or flies in my house though!!!
