I have just found out that i am pregnant.....obviously happy about this, but a little worried as to what the response will be from my work place, as i have only been at the practiceen-USTelligent Community 10https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/thread/120453?ContentTypeID=1Thu, 29 Sep 2011 13:22:04 GMT1a0763ec-3885-442c-853e-6cef656dfec5:e1a44568-8927-4b83-9bb2-81985209aae9Tracy Windler RVN<p>These things happen, I&#39;m sure they&#39;ll be a bit miffed, but they should keep that to themselves if they have any sense!</p> <p>Do you know how many weeks you are?&nbsp; If you worked there at least a week before the first week of your pregnancy, you are entitled to normal maternity rights as someone who has been there 2 years.&nbsp; Infact, I&#39;m sure I read somewhere that they&#39;ve even got rid of that and all pregnant woman have the same rights.&nbsp; direct.gov site is good for up-to-date information on maternity rights.</p> <p>I would just try as much as you can to carry on as normal and remain useful to the team.&nbsp; Without carrying out any dangerous duties: heavy lifting, masking down, extra vigilance with avoiding xrays etc.&nbsp; Essentially you can do as little as you want and wrap yourself in cotton wool, but its a bit unfair to the other staff.&nbsp; When I was pregnant, the only thing I&nbsp;didn&#39;t&nbsp; do was topping up iso, mask ga&#39;s and having anything to do with administering vincristine etc.</p> <p>Oh, and congratulations!
