Brilliant site, lots of aussie clinics use it to find staff. Like everyone has always said it is easy to get a job as a UK qualified nurse. I had an amazing time when i did it, learnt so much!

Have fun!!

Re: Vet Nursing Jobs in Australia

Getting a job will not be a problem...send your resume to Uni's like James Cook in Townsville and Melbourne Uni. And plenty of private practices and specialty centers as well, just Google. As far as what is Australia like? Well its not all wide open spaces, there are no koalas in up power poles or kangaroos bouncing down the street (my sister somehow convinced our cousins friends this was the case when she was in the UK!) Mind you, where I live there are roos in the paddocks in the evening and Koalas in the National Park. Melbourne is more like a European/ English city, Sydney is more like and American city. Small country towns are generally friendly. Restaurants and shopping are equal to the UK, Chadstone shopping center in Melbourne is basically a mirror image of Bluewater in Kent, for instance (only bigger). Beaches are great and varied. There are a lot of multi national shops, Gap etc (no Boots though :( ) Just like anywhere there are areas of lower socio economic standing, and depending on where you end up working the attitude of clients is reflected by this. There are lots of rural mixed practices where you get to do everything from cats to alpacas to wildlife, and they will tend to do quite a few varied Sx due to distance, whereas a lot of metro pracs will send Sx to referral. PM me if you want any info on clinics you hear about.

Re: Vet Nursing Jobs in Australia

Thats exciting!! I haven't been myself but I plan to go after I qualify after traveling around asia/china but I have spoke to lots of oz vets and nurses about it. They all say its easy to get a job out there English nurses are highly regarded and oz vets always comment on how advance are knowledge and skills are compared to oz nurses. Everyone I've spoken to say I wont have a problem finding work.
