when I did my training i needed cat dog and other for pretty much every task, but with the NPL ive been marking my student as competent if she has covered dog cat and other with the same or similar things. so for the radiography tasks, ive not asked her to cover an exotic with every view....that just wasnt gonna happen, so i got her to position for one or 2 of the tasks with an exotic and marked her as competent all round! hope that makes sense!! :)

Thanks that really helps, I didn't know you could do this I thought you needed one for cat dog exotic for each.

I covered it with my student by doing a dog and cat orthopaedic procedure and then covering exotics with the other ones on the list - major,minor or emergency procedures. I think we also wrote a comment about how it would be different covering this procedure with a cat/dog and an exotic and it was marked fine when it was internally verified by the training centre.
