Hes a little thin, scruffy and dehydrated - but back on the road to recovery :) so i assume he has been locked in somewhere!

Im never letting him out of my sight again haha

thanks for all of your replies - i did put up a few posters in the end, but they were obviously not needed in the end.

Re: Can you put up 'missing cat' Posters or will i get fined???

I wouldn't have thought you'd get fined, at my last practice we had a stray cat in which we put notices up for and had no problems (found the owner too ). Hope your cat comes home.

Re: Can you put up 'missing cat' Posters or will i get fined???

Not about animals, but similar vain - my husband placed loads of flyers for his business on car widscreens at a nearby out of town shopping centre. The manager phoned and asked him to come and collect them, threatening to charge him for the clean-up. Hubby never collected anything, never got fined and actually gained a few new clients, so no, I doubt anyone would ever get fined for advertising a missing pet. Hope he comes home soon,

That's just awful. Glad you safely got your cat back.

Luckily I've never been in this situation but I've seen news articles about it before. I think you can technically get fined but they generally seem to give you time to remove the posters before fining you if they're harsh enough to fine you in the first place. If you just put a mobile number on the poster and no address I can't see how they could trace you anyway. I constantly see missing pet posters in my area. Here's one of the articles I found..

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8237215/Council-threatens-man-with-fine-over-lost-cat-posters.html

Have you tried websites too?

http://www.nationalpetregister.org/

Good luck on getting him back.

Re: Can you put up 'missing cat' Posters or will i get fined???

We put up posters when one of ours went missing and didn't get fined, although we did get some crank calls, one in particular really upsetting one from a nutter saying he had cooked the cat. I have seen other posters up too and never heard of people getting fined. If you're worried about being fined you could ask local people to put them in their front windows and shops close by. With the number of animal lovers in this country I am sure a fair few would be willing.

I hope you find him. Keep us posted.
