The PGCE enables you to teach from primary upwards whereas the DTLLS (or when you apply for Qualified teacher status) enables you to teach over 14's. I don't have a degree and I am doing DTLLS but could have done cert ed if they still did it down here. It's replaced the Certificate in Education. I can then go onto the Diploma, which would give me a teaching qualification. It's £361 to do the part time course of PTLLS, and £550 to do the Diploma so that's what I'm going to do :-)

And yes, definitely, as I need the level 2 to go onto the teaching courses so ideally I'd like to do it in my own time rather than rushing it so I can get on the course.

And thanks!

There's good you are going back to do maths to.

Handy to have maths though ESP with the calculations that we use day in day out and if it's been funded for even better. Good luck with everything

I am doing the course part time, I teach one day a week, cert ed one day a week and practice the rest of the week. So far it's okay but it's only my 4 th week in so time will tell. It's for 2 years but I really enjoy teaching. It's hard work preparing for lessons but love it!
