Awww - what a lovely thing to do Caro! I too would go for the 'wedding ring' finger but on the right hand - I had heard it was traditional somewhere - now I know where - thanks vicki

I'd wear it on the right hand next to little finger too, find it a comfortable finger to wear a ring on.

if you get a chance when you go there are some lovely craft shops there, pottery/glassware/textiles, good for a browse

Thanks Elvira that was what l was wondering and kind of decided on. I think 2 on one finger is for me to much in 2 small an area and l dont want a feeling of competition between the rings (hard to explain) and l do wonder if both on the same hand would rub so looks like l will be doing it the Greek way :-D

With the animals l never had ashes back the body for animal and human has to me always been the overcoat but with Dad l wanted a small bag of ashes mostly for Mum just if she wanted them as she hasnt been in a good place mentally. With Brian l needed to have some ashes then couldn't think what to do with them so slung them into a cupboard when l saw the ring it became an obsession.They are not cheap though and as l am allergic to metals & am fine with my gold wedding ring am going for the gold tribute ring.

I would go for 3rd finger right hand. I have a couple of Edwardian rings - one fits 3rd finger, the other the middle one. Occasionally I wear them together but I am constantly aware that they are likely to rub together (and sometimes they do.) I don't find a ring on the middle finger particularly comfortable either( but making my ring smaller would ruin the balance).

I was thinking of having a tribute ring made from the ashes of my favourite cat.

I have my nans wedding ring on a chain as her fingers were a lot smaller than mine (it fits my little finger) and I didn't want it to just sit in a jewelary box. I feel shes near me when I wear it.

Exactly! My husband bought it specifically for that finger, as that way it shows I am married when we are in the UK and when we stay in Greece :)
He also has a ring on the 3rd finger of his left and right hand for the same reason

Thanks Vicki l was also thinking about the balance didn't know about the Greek & other countries tradition but interesting one though sort of second wedding ring but not. As it is custom made l need to decide on the finger l want it on as it will be made to measure.

Yes that's right Littlehays they have very good looking products and been great on the phone when l have spoken to them. Normally they do Saturdays as visit days for people to take ashes but as l can't do Saturdays this is a special arrangement with them they have been so helpful

They also do it for pets ashes it was how l found them was doing a locum & their brochure was there picked it up, had a read and realised it was something l would never have considered before as l like having the ashes but they were just "there" and l know Brian is with me all the time but this has become an obsession for me hard to explain but l need it. I will be wearing it where ever l locum and if they dont like it then sorry but l wont locum there. It means as much if not more than my wedding ring.

Hi, the tribute ring is such a lovely idea. I'm married, so have 2 rings on my wedding finger (left hand) but I also have an eternity ring, which I wear on the corresponding finger of my right hand. This is mainly because a) it looks balanced to me, and b) my husband is Greek, and it is traditional in greek, and other European cultures to wear your wedding rings on the 3rd finger of your right hand, not the left like we do here.

on the very few ocassions I wear Robs forgetmenot ring I wear it on the finger traditionally used for engagement left hand finger next to little finger
