Latest updates for our Ventana misery -

Yesterday we had a crash of our system JUST as consultations restarted and, after an hour, tech support said 'Oh yeah, we are just working on it, sorry about that.'

And now, we have had to spend the afternoon writing down all appointments, drugs, payments, procedures and clinical notes because they are working on it tomorrow and have already told us they will lose everything! Brilliant!

Oh God I haven't heard the dreaded "V" word for a while!! I certainly don't miss it!! Tech support are no help either. Hope it works out for you!

Practice I used to work in used Midshires - which was a pain in the ***..... crashed repeatedly & always had to wait for an enginerr to get back to us for ages for repairs & if they had to come out...... usually resulted in the server being taken apart into various peices behind the reception desk & having to use paper for ages....

They switched to Ventana just before I left, seemed to run ok, but I 'spose if it's made by the same company it's just doomed to fail!!

Yet another day of Ventana depression today, trying to computerise our 'ops book' and that it, whole system gone, all lists gone... ARGH. Honestly trying to get support from these people feels like trying to get blood from a stone.

when I was locumming and turned up at a practice using ventana I just wanted to cry and walk away, esp if I was doing nurse consults

best one was Jupiter . Hate premvet or midshires with a passion. Rx works is ok - but takes you round the houses to do a simple job and has a habit of crashing at the slightest opportunity (well ours did!) , dont find their tech support that supportive!

Theres another one I really like but cant for the life of me remember its name (its my age catching up with me)

dont you find that when 'run time error' pops up in the middle of writing up history and pricing up ops is not the most annoying thing!!!!!

We have VENTANA!!! and it makes my life mich harder! I could be writing up historys then it crashes! freezes and crashes! takes ages to do anything.....

Half the branches has it and the other half have Jupiter, which I have to say i really like using.

I think we are going over to Jupiter soon.

At the moment I would agree that it is! It takes us twice as long to write out what we want and then copy it onto the computer!!

all i ever here myself tell clients is" bare with me my computers a little slow"!!!!!! its always slow, crashing, backing up takes forever wish my boss would go to someone else!!!!!

Yep, had clients walk out furious because all the computers have gone down again and we can't put up food/wormers/flea tx. It is so frustrating - and the people dealing with it don't seem to realise!

yeah my boss was on the [hone for at least 4 hrs yesterday, interupting the op session. Today we've had the rcvs inspectors in, and the system was still messing up. The accounts manager spent all day being on the phone running up and down the stairs telling us to turn the comps on and off!!! nightmare!!!

Yep, all our consent forms keep coming out of the receipt printer, the computer in prep was not attached to the system this morning for no apparent reason, we seem to spend hours of each day on the phone!

Not to mention the back-ups that don't seem to back up! Our poor head receptionist is pulling her hair out.

We can't print anything, we got the upgrade last weds and since then it's been fcuked. I tried to print some invoices to send off with insurance forms, they printed off on the px label printer... not a happy gem-gems xx
