Anybody know of any food or drug companies that sell low price dog weighing scales?
Our practice simply can't afford £300 for new ones right now!!!

(I love ebay!) But you NEED scales - it is an absolutely essential piece of kit. Regardless of the reasons for them getting broke, if you need them you should buy them. And in the grand scheme of things in a veterinary practice, £300 is chicken feed. If your staff are feeling that it is unreasonable to ask for an essential piece of kit that costs that 'little', then you are being unfair to them,.Or if you genuinely cannot afford them then IMHO you are in a lot of trouble.

(I started a practice from scratch a few years ago and didn't turn a profit for a few years so I do know about financial strife - I sold a single worming tablet one day!!!!)

That's my opinion anyway.

Re: Weighing Scales
Sorry Gillian - not being obtuse, but does your reply mean that most practices could probably stump up £300 for new scales no worries?

I have no idea about practice finances.... but I know that most bosses I've worked for / with have been money orientated, and will look anywhere that will save them a few pennies - and will often charge their RVN's with all the bother of ringing round to find the cheapest deal...

I agree Nick! It makes me mad when people have no control of their horrible little brats. Hate it when they let them leave the consult room and run riot...do they not think about the dangerous and expensive equipment, along with aggressive dogs they could encounter?!

Re: Weighing Scales
Our practice simply can't afford £300 for new ones right now!!!
