This is her first attempt but she failed everything. Her clinical coach was appauling for the last year, i am not a clinical coach but she confided in me in April that she hadn't logged a thing in her NPL as her coach was non exsistant and a bully when she was around. I tried my best to help her and arranged a meeting with the manager to explain the gravity of the issue. Even as a technophobe i found the NPL system easy to use but it appeared her coach didn't know how to use the system so i took over with pen and paper, marked everything and passed it to her coach who only had to log in and mark her a claiming competence. Her knowledge and confidence were way below what they should have been at her level. Im concerned shes maybe not ready for level 3 and will cause herself further stress trying to do it. Sadly it is our practice that has let her down but the college are being unhelpful. We have 3 svns starting in september and we have no trained clinical coaches as the college have no arranged dates for training. Im very concerned for all these students and the course being continued at the college as on the students last block, they were sent home after 2 days because the course tutor had prepared no notes or work.

Sorry big rant, very frustatrated.

Re: Student VNs what happens after exams?

Hi

Is it the new VN training or still the NVQ? and how many attempts has she already had?

If its the NVQ then you cannot start Level 3 until the Level 2 exams are passed and the portfolio etc.

If she has failed for the first or second time then she will be able to resit in November.

My friend has just failed her NVQ 2 Paper 1 for the 3rd time. She cannot resit her final attempt until March as it has to be a full 4 months before she can try again. The new diploma I am sure the rules are the same? someone correct me if I am wrong?
