You're at Writtle, is that right? I just finished Dip Animal Management there. The lecturers are lovely and I found everyone from the canteen lady to head of facualty to be really friendly and helpful. The college itself is easy enough to navigate around (rooms L are Lower Floor and U, Upper Floor - simple!) The library's good and has a lot of books as downloads. Big plus side - only 80p for a cuppa

At 40 I was the oldest on my course, but no-one treated me like an old fogey. The average age was 22 and we all got on just fine. From my expereince your brain will probably enjoy the challenge. Mine had done zip since 1992 and it not only survived but I got bloody good grades

Seriously, don't be nervous - everyone on your course is gonna be feeling the same and after a few days you'll have settled in just fine
