The horse question, they just want to hear that you'll be at work on time for your shift and not taking time off to do other things. Seeing your level of commitment.

The other question about what you would change is a very hard question to answer, I would have had to think about that one. The other suggestions are good and I would like the work that we do to be recognised by clients and not have them quibble the money they pay. Hopefully then we can have pay rises to more than that of supermarket shelf stackers.

Re: interview help
Give vet nurses more recognision
Regards to questions, always try to ask some yourself and find out about the practice beforehand and mention something about them, i.e. any specialist areas they do or puppy classes if interested in them?

answers for questions

euths - i try to sympathise with client and be as kind as possible to animal in last few moments. try to understand reasoning behind euth and let client say goodbye to animal in their own time. most often euth is necessary to prevent suffering, mention you understand that.

change vet world - depends on each person, me I would reintroduce licensing of animals so only decent people could have animals. Give vet nurses more recognision against vets. allow us to increase our remit for what we can do for practice. I.e minor stitch-ups, more client relations (geriatric clinics/ diabetic clinics etc)

hope that helps. good luck for thurs and be yourself! x

Re: interview help

I would start with saying "please excuse me I'm very nervous". I think most interviewers will allow for nerves. To calm the nerves you could try breathing exercises and Bachs Flowers Rescue Remedy.

As for your horsey question how about answering "I'll be up very early!!" (couple of the girls I work with have horses and still manage to get in for shifts starting at 7.30am and 9am and go back to finish off after work).

You're right not to say anything bitchy about your current practice - that would be most unprofessional. You could say you got on well with everyone you worked with but now you're looking for a new challenge.

Now you know the sort of questions you could be asked you've got an opportunity to prepare your answers

Good luck
